About Tracker
He had some idea that anybody could learn anything, and quickly too, if that anything was not too much and if the teacher went the right way about it.
– Anthony Burgess, The Pianoplayers
”Tracker” has been raised by collies and companioned by shepherds for pretty much all her life. Right this minute she has two pound-rescue purebreds and one show dog, and is affiliated with no particular organizations. She is in favor of sensible breeding programs which produce sound, healthy, well-adjusted puppies with brains, and not nearly so in favor of casual catch-as-catch-can canine affairs. She spends almost as much time researching as training, so book reviews will sometimes happen, and a fair amount just plain thinking through problems past and potential.
She is unimpressed by force-training’s results on average dogs, and even less impressed with them on intelligent ones. If you, too, believe that education does not necessarily lead to neurosis, then stick around and read a while.
