The Great Coffee Mug Hunt (and Airedales)
Today blog http://coffeebreak.today.com/ is running a contest to replace a beloved and now-broken mug. I’m joining in, partly because it seems appropriate to search out something nice while blogging about searching for beloveds and partly because this mug is gorgeous. Since the now-departed mug was primarily blue, the color scheme seemed appropriate. Since part of the story was of training the kids which one is “Mom’s mug,” the adult-puppy connection made a nice picture, too. It’s also especially apt since chameleonsdream is a longtime blogger who often helps out the newbs on the Today forums and around the site in general.
Airedales may not be everyone’s cup of tea (or coffee). For a start, they are terriers. Terriers (from “terra,” meaning earth) are tenacious and like to dig. In addition, airedales are energetic, intelligent, and rather large, which sounds like a great combination until you have to live with one. Their attitude is often that they knew what they were doing, so the humans ought to understand it. If the humans do not, well, “How frightfully unreasonable of you!” They are, however, great additions to active and dog-including households. Ten-mile hike? They’re up for it. Ten-mile hike where the dog is allowed to help with the sightseeing? Totally into it. They are naturally caffeinated.
